Mark Wallace shows you how to create some interesting images using a sheet of glass, some RainX and a little water. These images can be used as computer wallpaper, backgrounds for you iPad, iPhone or even used in a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation. Mark also shows how he edited the images in Lightroom to saturate the color and make the photos pop.
Great ep! As always! Btw: What is Rain-X? So i can look for the equivalent… Thanks!
how did you capture your desktop like that with the zoom feature on your mouse pointer?
can you make a vid on How To properly clean a lens ,sensor, and other parts
WD-40 also works
Thanks Mark. I was so inspired by this video, I rushed right out and got some Rain-X and started shooting. It took a few tries to get the composition I wanted, but eventually I think I got a few great shots. I posted four of them in a set on my Flickr.com page. Search Tango Juliet Photography.
If you go to your local auto-supplies shop and ask for something to help the water run off the windscreen of your car they will suggest something like the above. When I used to work washing cars we would also occasionally use high shine polish (meant for paintwork) on the windows to make the water run off better. When the water has nowhere to run you will get this kind of effect. The polish must be completely removed, preferably with soft mutton-cloth or something similar.
Just to let you know, I tried a general search for your name and couldn’t find anything. I had to go to “Contacts,” “People search” to find your pics. I like the one of the woman’s face. Kinda freaky.
thank you!!!!
Hmm. Not sure why you had such trouble, but to be honest, I don’t post much there. The face is from the cover of a book called “Hollywood Portraits – Classic Shots and How to Take Them”.
Same thing which makes droplets on your car rather than fields of water. This makes it easier to keep your car clean. So I guess RainX works in the same way. It coats the window/glass to make it easier to keep them clean.
Rainx is a product that leaves a kind of film on your glas or carwindscreen, a film on which the raindrops don’t stick, when you drive your car in the rain with a rainx on you windscreen you’ll notice the raindrops will flow away wihtout using the wipers.

@slovakianchic
Rain-x is available at Amazon :)
rain-x is for your car. go to any car shop and you should find it.
very nice! This deserves way more views!
I like your show, I hate your intro
can i just use a flash light instead of a giant flash?
Anything else than rain-x you can use? We dont have that brand here.
Hey! I love the way you’ve used the MacBook Pro to frame the onscreen part of the clip. Great stuff as always!
oil
who sayd oil? dont use oil. straight isopropal alchohol man. its pretty much exactly what rain-x is
When you export the image as a wallpaper for the iPad you should actually use an aspect ratio of 1-to-1 (square image), so for example 1024×1024 pixels for the iPad 1 and 2, or 2048×2048 for the 3rd generation iPad. That way the wallpaper works in both portrait and landscape mode of the iPad.
Go tho Canadian Tire to buy RainX
Use car wax, the water should do the same thing.
Please check out some of my photos 🙂
