Most DSLR’s have a “bulb” mode where the shutter will stay open as long as you hold down the shutter release. I use a remote with mine so I just put it in bulb mode hit the release to open the shuttter then again whenever I feel like it to close it again.

Didn’t know that. Thank you!

Cool stuff! I am into night photography, I love it. I was wondering how long of exposures you guys use, and what iso. I’m usually doing quick 8 sec exposures, but it seems like you guys stay out there for a while.

Great vid. Where can a get a flashlight that gives off yellowish light like the one being used in this vid? All I can find are LED flash lights with the blue hue.

skyephoto says:

I’ve got a list of flashlights that we use, with descriptions on the books page of my site. YouTube does not allow links, but try: the night skye dot com/books.
